Entering new Forensic Filer license keys
License keys only need to be entered on one workstation on the network. All other workstations will automatically pick up the new license key the next time Forensic Filer is launched.
Laptops utilizing Forensic Sync will obtain the new license key the next time they Synchronize.
License keys can only be entered by an Administrator of Forensic Filer, and they can only be entered at a network connected workstation. They can't be entered from a laptop that is currently disconnected from the office network (running in Remote mode).
1. Open Forensic Filer on a workstation on the network
2. From the Forensic Filer main screen, click Help, Register Forensic Filer
3. Enter your new key (or keys) and click "Validate"
4. If you receive a message that the keys are validated, you can select OK and the new keys are correctly entered.
5. If the keys are invalid, go back to step #3 and enter the new keys again.
** NOTE ** License keys never use the letters "O" or "L"
