User Login Tips

  • How do I login to FF.NET?

Please go to HERE for additional information.

  • How do I login from a computer outside of my office?

As long as you have Microsoft Internet Explorer version 8 (IE8) or higher on your pc at home (for example), you would log into www.forensicfiler.net and enter your email address for the same user name and password as if you were at the office.

It will ask you to enter the answer to one of the security questions because you are using a different PC.

You can also select REMEMBER ME and TRUSTED PC check boxes so that it will not ask you the security questions each time you log in.

Please go to HERE for additional information.

Tabs and Screen Tips

  • Do not use the back arrow from your browser to navigate to a different tab. There is no sure-fire way to know which page a user came from, and using any back history functionality would cause a page to be loaded in a indeterminable state and could cause errors in the data saved for that case.

  • You can open your Internet Explorer browser in full screen mode by holding down the CTRL button and then selecting the F11 command button. To return to normal screen mode, press the same combination of keys agin.

  • The LOCK CASE check box appears near the bottom of all tabs and is used to lock a case from further changes or updates. The Administrator can unlock the case if needed.

  • After selecting a REPORT to PREVIEW, use the back arrow to return to the REPORTS menu.

  • Selecting the VIEW/PRINT ONLY checkbox near the bottom of the CASE MANAGEMENT screen will make moving from tab to tab faster but will not allow changes to the case.

  • The ? blue question mark followed by the word HELP near the top right hand portion of each form will take you to the main support WIKI page.

  • The ? blue question mark within the top right portion of the body of the form will take you to that specific page within the WIKI.

Field Tips

  • A green plus sign next to a field indicates that you can enter a new item by clicking on that icon.
  • DATES All dates unless specified can be entered as mm/dd/yyyy or selected from the calendar button.
  • TIMES All times unless specified can be entered as hh:mm or hh:mm:ss and are military time.
  • COMMENTS The comments fields located on several tabs can contain a significant amount of text. You are not limited to the space shown on the screen. This includes the NARRATIVE tab.
